I believe art expands our world and allows us to communicate beyond words Making art through painting and photography has become an avenue to share scenes that interest me not only for the subject matter, but also how I might capture a moment in time.

Seeking opportunities to learn and create art began early in my life. My journey has included studio art classes as a youth and young adult and ongoing study with talented artists. I have enjoyed experimenting with various mediums and styles of expression and found that painting with oils has allowed me to be flexible with texture and color.

My experience of creating art begins with noticing and capturing a scene to photograph. The light source is always the key element to support what I might develop. The color and tone may set the mood until human subjects and human influences either enhance or disrupt this mood.

As my photography has grown out of the constant search for subjects and scenes to paint, I find that a number of them are worthy of sharing.

Lately I've been working on refining my niche as an artist. My life's journey has continued to bring me to beautiful locations where opportunities to photograph and paint surround me. Scenes from local beaches and beyond have been incorporated in much of my recent work.

This past winter and spring I often took my dog for a run on a beautiful beach in Cape Henlopen State Park.  My morning goal was to catch the sunrise over the ocean. Some mornings Jovi and I wouldn't quite make it in time, nevertheless, we caught some amazing scenes especially if clouds were present to join the show.
